Home Yesterdays Little Line Goodbye Mr. Evans Mellow Tone How Deep The Ocean Spectrum Play All

The Year was 1990 when I came to Houston to record Guitarist Erich Avinger's 2nd CD for Heart Music (Si). In the midst of that recording, the producer, Tab Bartling, saw a compatibility between Erich and I, and saxophonist Tony Campise. He was so sure of his hunch that he interrupted Erich's CD to record Tony's first CD with Heart Music (First Takes).

First Takes did well on the charts, and I was asked back later that year to do a second Tony Campise CD (Once In A Blue Moon). This time the pianist was Joe LoCascio because of his long-standing musical relationship with Tony. The magic was there! It was then that I decided I wanted to do my own recording with Joe and Tony.

So in 1991 when I came back to Houston once again, to record with vibraphonist Harry Sheppard for Justice Records (Standards), I siezed the moment, and this recording was born.

Special Thanks to Tab Bartling of Heart Music Records for his advice on this project,
To recording engineer Andy Bradley of Sugar Hill Studios, for his excellent recording abilities and always valid opinions.
To my wife, Kathy, who convinced me to finish producing this CD, even though the recording was 11 years old, because she had always felt it was "A Beautiful Piece of Music"
And Of Course, To Joe LoCascio and Tony Campise for their inspiration and incredible musicianship!
